Linda Morris Williams is the President & CEO of Morris & Associates, a consulting group with over 35 years of leadership and management experience in both the private and public sector resulting in institutional transformation and success.  

 

Linda Morris Williams is also Associate Chancellor Emeritus for the University of California, Berkeley.  She retired from the University of California after 27 years of service.  As a former Senior Advisor and member of the Cabinet, Williams served as a lead strategist and had a broad level of authority to represent the Campus with constituencies such as faculty, senate committee chairs, senior administrators, other UC locations, Office of the President, public agencies and the community. Williams had administrative oversight for numerous offices including the offices of Government & Community Relations, Audit and Advisory Services, and the Staff Ombuds Office.  As a certified compliance and ethics professional (CCEP), Williams also served as the campus Chief Ethics, Risk and Compliance Officer and had responsibility for oversight and coordination of the campus’ ethics, risk and compliance requirements through the Office of Ethics, Risk and Compliance Services. In addition, Williams served as the Berkeley campus’ Locally Designated Official under the Whistleblower Policy and the Campus Information Practices Coordinator. 

 

Linda Morris Williams began her service at the University of California in 1988 on the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) campus where she spent 16 years and was appointed Associate Chancellor at UCSD in 1997. In 2003, Linda Morris Williams was appointed the Associate President of the University of California system at the Office of the President.  In 2008, she assumed the position of Associate Chancellor at the University of California, Berkeley. Linda Morris Williams was the first African American woman to serve in each of these executive level positions.

 

During her 27 years of service in the UC system, Williams earned a reputation as a highly capable and personable administrator. In addition to championing improved relations between the University and its staff, faculty and students, Williams was instrumental in the University’s efforts to build strong ties with a range of community groups, nonprofits and organizations outside of the UC sphere.  

 

Williams has served on numerous boards and has been bestowed many honors throughout her career. Upon her retirement, Williams was presented with the UC Berkeley Citation, a Proclamation from the City of Berkeley, a California Legislative Assembly Resolution, and a US House of Representatives 114th Congressional Record for her professional and career accomplishments.

Williams is a highly sought after executive coach.  She is also a leadership and development trainer in addition to being a motivational speaker on topics that include but are not limited to visionary leadership, the empowerment of women, and “speaking truth to power.”
